hi everybody the surprise is out of the bag so if you haven’t been following along beauty is in full to Oliver so that he’s going to have his first registered Clyde taale uh baby we’re very excited about it beauty is a 5-year-old Maiden May Maiden meaning she’s never fold before um she is a registered Clydesdale and we got a real cleaned up today she thinks I have treats in my pocket or something oh that’s a tape measure not treats bed but we’ve got it real cleaned up today so you can kind of see the color um so if
you look real close she’s got this golden Sheen to her black fur so like she’s browned out or sun faded out I guess but she is actually a black Clyde stale here look at the look at the she’s all wet right now we gave her bath and she’s not drying very quick yeah I washed her three or 4 hours ago but she’s not drying and we do have hot water for uh washing them in the winter time like this but I needed to get her hoves cleaned up so I could you know do preventative thrust care for the winter and stuff but um she also has some
roning in her and both her and um Oliver have recessive roning jeans meaning they’ve had Ron in their past the bay like Oliver is is more dominant from what I’ve heard from a friend of mine Johnny Stanton told me that black is recessive generally so I’m expecting the F to come out my estimation will be a dark Bay ran um kind of like that one nice mare we saw at the at the April National Clydesdale sale we can maybe put a picture of her up that’s my guess but it could be black it could be a bay a bay it could be a ran of either e
either color um I don’t think we’ll get any chestnuts or charl cuz there’s just not many of them in their pedigree But Clyde stes come in more color than what we knew when we got into the breed and a lot of people don’t realize how many colors there are in the because of the Budweiser yeah um the it is the the most typical color is the typical Budweiser look the bay with the four white stocking legs but but there are a lot of variations um so she’s only about two months along in her pregnancy not even quite two months yet and we
wanted to do monthly update videos on her and we’re going to get a weight she was 1300 lb even the day we bought her and she really shouldn’t have gained any weight from the pregnancy yet um like I say under two months that baby is still just microscopic just real small maybe not microscopic but but golf ball size um so we’re going to take her up here in the scale room get a weight and then we will measure her abdomen with a string and keep a Lo of how big she gets while she’s having this baby it’ll be pretty
exciting okay she didn’t really want to go in there today but that’s okay when we first got Beauty we waited her and she was 1300 lb so we’ll use that as a baseline of before she was pregnant so we’ll see where she’s at right now look like 1325 is pretty accurate so about same huh well 25 lbs heavier that’s good we were hoping Beauty had put on some weight since we got her to us looks a little bit underweight so we’ve been feeding her a lot Alfalfa um grain supplements uh We’ve dewed her um but she also seems
a little bit like a hard keeper to be honest so we’ll kind of see what happens over time hopefully she can put on um some extra weight uh but we’ll just kind of have to wait and see okay now we’ll get a measurement on her abdomen for a baseline because I’m sure it hasn’t it hasn’t moved any and how I do that as I’ve done this before with horses just for fun oh it yeah her’s wound up now be from the back okay so I just find the biggest spot around just right there any bigger spot yeah right there’s bigger okay
that’s the biggest spot around that I can find okay so then I can you no you can stay right there and help me you get that those two ends lined up use your thumb it’s what US monkeys evolve for well I’m not left-handed at all so holding the camera and doing come on I mean a train monkey could hold that okay so she is 81 and 1/2 in right now so basically 81 in 82 in especially if the ends aren’t lined up which is 6′ 10 in to 82 and that is not very big I have had a fox trod M that got over 11 ft around when she was really
big with full so that’s what I’m expecting her to end at she’s at six foot right now six what did I say six foot 10 mhm I bet she ends at 11 ft 11 and 1/2 ft by the time she’s done so that will be fun cuz that’s the biggest May I’ve had was was May I had named Casey that would get um 11 feet around when she was pregnant so at what stage do you think we’ll be seeing her belly um getting you know noticeable seven months about seven months yeah seven eight months is when we’ll start seeing that measurement start to grow month by month
a lot yeah from there we headed back up to the barn we’re going to measure Beauty really quick uh we know she’s very similar in height to Oliver uh but we have a new measuring stick it’s very accurate so we wanted to go ahead and get her height and we figured we may as well do it while we’re filming so you guys can see too and then we’re also going to go on a quick cart ride with beauty somebody bought us this really cool measuring stick and that’s how tall Oliver is oh she’s quite a bit smaller
he right there we are so what 67 so 163 and just a little pinch over 163 which Oliver was right at 17 he was right there she’s right there so 67 in so 15 or 16 Hands and almost 17 but not quite Oliver wasn’t quite 17 hand no he was like right under right there okay I mean yeah he basically yeah he was right under he’s only 3/4 of an inch taller than her but yeah they’re not real tall Clyde stales just right so Beauty’s being very patient this time for us to get on the cart that’s a really good sign that’s new
she’s getting better okay walk babe do you want the green rope on her it won’t hurt nothing we bought Beauty and she was already trained to pull a cart and ride and Jr has been doing both with her they’ve gone on trail rides uh and she does excellent and she’s gone on a handful of cart rides she does have a little bit of anxiety when in harness uh she doesn’t like to stand still some little issues uh but Jr is working with her and we’re going to show you all of that in a later video okay so I know
we’ll have a few questions on if it’s okay to work a pregnant mayor like this and it’s perfectly okay in fact it’s good for them to keep working with them and training them and keeping her in shape and healthy um the exercise will do her good and we don’t work them real hard anyway and even if we did that would be fine you just kind of give them a break once they get too big for the harness to fit is what the vet told us um maybe the last month or so they’ll get a little uncomfortable but you could work them
right up to the day they fold and then give them about 6 weeks off I don’t think your belly’s going to fit between the two arms though it won’t very much or in you know later in her pregnancy her belly will be too big around it’s going to be an exciting 2025 getting Oliver’s first fle on the ground hopefully everything goes well with this one and um we’ll have one other F out of out of um Darlin oh yeah Y and then maybe a pony maybe some pony fos we don’t know we don’t know yet on that so it’s going to be an exciting year so
make sure to follow the progress and then also for this year I know we’re going to work real hard to get better equipment better better videography Better Sound a website a website and emy’s album and a CD that’s right I’ve decided I will do that and she really goes she does look who’s peeking over the hill can’t wait to be taking her on Care by this time next year so in just a couple days it’s going to be January 2025 our new year is going to be starting and and we are going to have 10 months of waiting for this fool
to get here but I think we’re all going to have fun uh watching her growing and her body preparing to give birth uh it’s going to be a lot of fun so every month we’re going to try and do the same uh video in the same spot so you can kind of see how her body is changing and the full is growing so here is your first one that’s pretty [Music] okay that’s your Baseline on what she looks like we’ll do that every time we do this so you guys can see the change oh yeah you need to just get a good uh in front picture that’s what I was
trying to do and then at the end of her pregnancy we can put all those videos together and kind of watch the transformation be kind of cool
