What started as a reward for a 3-year-old’s potty-training milestone turned into something much more special. Ashley Gilley’s son, Warren, had been asking her for a cow for a long time. When he was having trouble learning to go to the bathroom, she decided to give him some incentive: Using the potty for five days in a row would earn him a bottle calf.
“He made it five days and jumped off the potty and screamed, ‘let’s go get my cow!'” Ashley told CountryLiving.com. “So we did. And somehow went from one cow to four.”
What’s one mom to do with all those calves? Ashley, who is a professional photographer in Virginia, decided to use the newest additions to their farm in a photo shoot with her sons. It was intended to celebrate Warren’s potty-training and her other son WyLee’s 6-month birthday. The photos of the boys and their animals beautifully capture what it’s really like to grow up in the country.
How cute?!
Ashley primarily photographs horses, newborns, and children, so it’s safe to say all of her work is this precious.
