She returned to The Kelly Clarkson Show on March 18.
Kelly Clarkson is back on her daytime talk show after an unexplained absence that had fans worried. During her time away, the show was hosted by an array of stars, from Brooke Shields and Molly Sims to Kevin Hart and Kal Penn. She finally returned to the airwaves on March 18. Reports say that she was dealing with a personal matter, but she has not addressed the situation publicly.
She kicked off the episode with a powerful Kellyoke performance of “Flames” by New Zealand artist Will Swinton, and then sat down for an interview with Severance star Adam Scott. Adam shared some behind-the-scenes tidbits from filming the popular series, as well as a photo dump from his phone. Kelly also surprised Adam with a special message from Ben Stiller, and played hilarious voicemails that he got from Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard about Severance.
The episode continued with Kelly interviewing Marc Rebillet (who wore a bathrobe for the appearance), The New York Bombers adaptive baseball team, and GalaxSea Explorers.
The Kelly Clarkson Show shared photos from the episode on Instagram, and Kelly was flooded with messages from fans showing their support and excitement. One wrote, “All is right again 🙌 *breathes a sigh of relief*” and another said, “SHE’S BACK!!!!! Missed her so much!” One viewer commented, “So glad Kelly is back cause she is amazing.”
But some fans were left with questions: “Was this filmed recently or a while ago?” one wrote. Another said, “So we just watch a show without any word from where the host actually is?” According to Good Housekeeping, Kelly has returned to filming, but it is not clear when the episode that aired on March 18 was filmed.
If you were wondering where Kelly was during the past two weeks, it looks like it will remain a mystery. Kelly did not address her absence from the show. She’ll be off the air again on March 19, and Andy Cohen will step in to host. She’s expected to return on Thursday and Friday.
